Important Message from the Executive Director

Dear Friends,

We live in one of the most incredible places on earth. Where else can you look up to see two-thousand-year-old giants towering hundreds of feet above you? The stories these trees might tell if they could speak! It is amazing how these silent ambassadors from the past continue to inspire us today.

Over a hundred years ago, these old-growth redwood forests were nearly wiped out by the blade of an axe. It was only through the heroic efforts of this country’s first conservationists that the groves in Big Basin and Henry Cowell survived. Because of this foresight, you and your family can stroll beneath their ancient canopy and be inspired by their presence today.

Our giants need your help to continue their timeless legacy. Please make a gift today to ensure these inspirational wonders endure for lifetimes to come.

You can probably recall some precious moments spent in the forest —standing inside a hollowed-out trunk, resting by a babbling stream, or hiking up a mountain path. Your children and grandchildren will likely make their own memories and find a quiet refuge near some of the same treasured spaces that you have cherished over the years.

Your investment today is a gift connecting the stewards of the past with those who will come after us. It will mean the world to them, and to you!

Your donation goes directly to programs that teach people to care about our redwood forests. Your support will help educate visitors about the incredible bounty our forests provide and will inspire others to join us in protecting these sacred places.

I can’t thank you enough for your commitment to enhancing and sustaining your redwoods state parks for the benefit of all those around you today, and those yet to come.

In gratitude,

Brenda Holmes

Executive Director
