Mission

Mountain Parks Foundation – In cooperation with California State Parks – enriches each visitor’s
experience through wise stewardship of resources to enhance understanding of our natural environment
and cultural heritage.

What is your purpose?
We enrich the experience of visitors to Henry Cowell and Big Basin Redwoods State Parks by providing activities and programs about the plants, wildlife and history of the area.

How old is your organization?
We began in 1973.

How are you connected with State parks?
We contract with California State Parks and Recreation.

How much money do you get from State parks?
None. 

Where do you get your funding?
Proceeds from the Foundation’s Nature Stores, donors, and foundations.
