Emma McCrary Memorial Trailblazer Fund
Overview

Purpose: To provide funding and engage volunteers to support and maintain trails in the California State Parks where Emma McCrary worked
on trails, including Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Fall Creek, Wilder State Park and Año Nuevo State Park and Reserve.
Focus: The primary focus for support will be on the trails created and/or maintained by Emma McCrary.
The Fund: The Trailblazer Fund was created in Emma McCrary’s memory with a generous donation from Diane Porter Cooley.
Projects Eligible for Funding: All trail maintenance work funded by the Trailblazer Fund will be performed by volunteers under the guidance
of qualified State Parks staff or their designee(s). Examples of eligible trail maintenance volunteer groups include Big Basin Volunteer Trail Crew, VolCal, California State Parks Foundation’s
Park Champions Program, Santa Cruz County Horsemen’s Association, Trailworkers, youth organizations such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Big Creek Lumber employees, and other qualified professionals
and/or individuals willing to volunteer their time and expertise.
