So Many Trails to Choose From

There are trails in Big Basin for everyone, from the casual stroller to the serious backpacker. A few guidelines to follow when hiking in Big Basin: Dogs are allowed, on leash, in campgrounds, picnic areas and on the North Escape Road. Dogs are not permitted on trails or fire roads. Bicycles are allowed on paved and dirt roads only, not on trails. Horses are allowed only on trails that are marked with the horseshoe symbol. CA State Parks’ website has the most up-to-date information about trail closures, points of interest, and seasonal happenings.
