Elder Explorers Redwood Experience

Thursday, May 16, 2024
1:00pm - 2:30pm

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Day Use Area

Registration Fee: $30

Would you like to discover new ways to connect with nature?

Join us for a rejuvenating afternoon amongst the redwoods!

You’ll be guided on a peaceful journey that skillfully blends a slow trip around an old-growth redwood loop with nature awareness practices, hands-on learning, and maybe even singing! Experience a harmonious balance of motion and stillness, solo and shared experiences. We don’t go far, but we do go deep, connecting with the magic of the redwood forest.

Some practices will be done alone to cultivate a deeper experience, and there will be opportunities to share with others. We will call on the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water to bring us to a new understanding of the aliveness and interconnectedness of the natural world. You will leave feeling relaxed and replenished, with simple tools you can use on your own to receive nourishment and inspiration from the natural world.

This is a gentle, experiential program on the Redwood Loop which is a flat, wide and smooth trail. Walkers meant to travel outdoors can work well; a wheelchair may be easier. A cane or walking poles work well for those who need just a bit more stability. We will walk a total of about ½ to 1 mile, alternating between periods of movement and standing.

We will meet on the sidewalk outside the Nature Store adjacent to the main parking lot. Group size is limited to ensure a quality experience and advance registration is required. Those who register will receive more detailed directions and information via email.
