Grieving with the Redwood Forest in Big Basin

Sunday, June 2, 2024
12:00pm - 3:00pm

Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Registration Fee: $45

Join us as we witness the beauty, destruction, and new life of a forest recovering from a devastating wildfire. We will share what’s in our hearts and on our minds with the intention of releasing our grief and making room for renewal. Using guided meditation and other gentle practices, you will be invited to experience the healing support of the natural world as you reflect on your own grief in community with others. There will be time for allowing your natural rhythms to shake, rattle and be voiced. Expect to leave with a greater sense of connectedness and a new awareness of the growth and renewal happening all around us.

Class meets at the Visitor Center in the main parking lot at Big Basin. During our time together we will walk a total of about 1 mile on uneven, unpaved surfaces. Participants must be able to be mobile without the requirement of mobility aids other than walking poles. Those who register will receive more detailed directions and information via email.
