How long is the walk in the redwood grove?
The Redwood Loop is 0.8 mile. It is an easy, flat, wheelchair-accessible loop through the giant old-growth redwoods. Allow 30-45 minutes for the walk. Twenty-five cent brochures for a self-guided tour are available at the park entrance, the Visitor Center and the Nature Store.

Where can I walk my dog?
Dogs  are welcome in the park but must be on a leash at all times. Dogs are allowed on Powder Mill Fire Road, Meadow Trail, Pipeline Road, and Graham Hill Trail. Dogs are also allowed on all paved surfaces. Dogs are not allowed in the redwood grove. Dogs are welcome in the campground and picnic areas, but must not be left unattended.

Where can I ride my bike?
On all paved and fire roads in the park.  Bikes are not allowed on the trails. Bicyclists under 18 must wear a helmet.

Where can I ride my horse?
On most trails and fire roads. Horses are not allowed on Pipeline Road, the Redwood Loop and portions of the River Trail. Some trails are very slippery in winter months and will be closed to horses at that time.

Where can I get a map of Henry Cowell?
You can purchase a Henry Cowell map at the park entrance, the Visitor Center and the Mountain Parks Nature Store. The map indicates all park trails.

How do I make a camping reservation?
Make your reservations for camping through ReserveAmerica online or by phoning (800) 444-PARK. During the summer season, you can call the Henry Cowell Campground for more information at (831) 438-2396.

Note that the Campground is closed from late fall to early spring. Call the public information number at (831) 335-4598 for precise closure dates.
